Vipassana Meditation Tips For Beginners

There is nothing like hard or easy. It’s all about your own perception. Life is never as expected sometime happiness is all-around and sometime you will feel bad upon little things. You have been seeing, some people taking everything lightly, they just concentrate on getting better day by day. While the other people get hurt at little things and give up easily.  The actual difference is spiritual awareness within their subconscious mind. There is no need to worry, we can uplift this awareness level and the best way is meditation. Many people find it difficult and they easily give up on meditation.

The practice of meditation started years and years back in Nepal. Buddha, the purest soul who was born in Nepal, is an inspiration for meditation. The Vipassana Meditation center in Nepal teaches the best way to begin the meditation. The beginner will be taught the easiest way to meditate and slowly people can be able to enter into the most complex stage of it. Satya Narayan Goenka was the founder of Vipassana.

If you want to start meditating, you need to remember some tips.

1) Sit in a comfortable place:

Meditation is impossible if you don’t feel comfortable. Comfort level improves your concentration and meditation is all about concentration. You can sit in bed, floor or any place where you feel good. If you feel uneasy, change the place immediately. Vipasanna Meditation provides you the comfortable place for meditation.

2) Don’t expect more:

While starting meditation, people assume a lot and expect they would get enlightenment soon. No one can be Buddha in some days. This kind of expectation will only lead towards dissatisfaction. Just sit in a place and without expecting start doing it.

3) Take it easy:

Meditation isn’t easy. You have to struggle a lot, it may be physical struggle or mental one. Sometime people get distracted and think a lot about the changes they have been facing within body and mind. Changes are normal in meditation.  You have to take everything easily and accept the changes you face within you.

4) Listen to the soothing music during meditation:

Meditation can be done only if you could concentrate. Your mind may think a lot of useless stuff. To make yourself free from such distracting thoughts, you can listen to the music while meditating. The music will make your brain calm and being calm is the first stage of meditation.

5) Stop thinking a lot:

Our body gets a rest while sleeping, but the mind never stops thinking. Most of the time our mind functions 24 hours a day. Mind also need rest. We have to stop thinking for some time to refresh our mind. Stop thinking doesn’t mean the end of all thoughts. It just means letting your brain free from the burden of thoughts. There will come a point when your all thoughts will be in your control. That’s the stage where you can totally purify your mind and be thoughtless during meditation.

6) Leave all your worries behind:

Worries, tension, frustration are normal. Everyone gets worried. Just the difference is one can handle all worries easily while some cannot. Commit yourself before meditating, at least you will forget all the worries for some time. This is our life, but we never think about oneself. We worry when we need to accomplish something, we worry when someone hurt us. Are these the genuine reasons to worry? Meditation will not make your life easier, but will surely make your mind relaxed and you will find life easier.  Mediation is not the destiny, but it is a path.

7) Count your breaths:

While you sit in a comfortable place and begin the meditation, the first thing you need to do is close your eyes, watch your own breath and start counting. This may sound a simple practice, but counting the breaths is itself the best meditation. If you can concentrate on your breath without being distracted, you will certainly realize the change within yourself.

8) Body scanning can be the other way:

Body scanning is also the next practice of meditation. Watch each and every part of your body with your mind. You will feel some process taking place. Some will get disturbed while doing this at first but, just concentrate on the internal movement of your body. You will like it after some time.

Just close your eyes and follow these tips, you will surely like meditation and will feel some positive changes within your body and mind. You can also start by joining one day vipassana meditation session. Happy Meditation!
